Mateus Mendonça

A native of southern Brazil, Mateus Guterres Mendonça is a journalist in training at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Throughout his career, he has built solid experience in reporting, photography, audiovisual production, and institutional communication, with a special focus on fundamental themes such as environmental conservation, culture, and science. In 2025, he joined the MIND.funga research group as a communicator, participating in field activities and documenting research conducted in ecosystems such as the Atlantic Forest, high-altitude cloud forests, and the canyon regions of southern Brazil. His work includes producing audiovisual content, photographic documentation, and science communication materials dedicated to showcasing Brazilian fungal diversity and the conservation initiatives developed by the group.
